Class of 2025-2026

A2Empowerment is providing scholarships to over 200 young women this school year, and benefiting over 450 young women total! Fifteen clusters of up to 30 high school students - scholarship recipients and their female peers - across Cameroon are receiving the Girl Boss curriculum thanks to our partnership with WESAD and Launch Girls. In their own words, some of the students and mothers share how the program has had an impact on their lives:

My name is Sandra, and I am in the lower sixth, studying building and construction. I want to become a military engineer (génie militaire). I want to appreciate A2Empowerment for the scholarship offered to me this academic year 2025/2026. Your support has been a game-changer for me, covering my tuition and allowing me to focus on my studies. After having my ordinary level, I thought of all the stress my mom will go through to pay the fees of my siblings and me all alone because of a lack of finance I thought becoming a military engineer was impossible, but God surprised me by letting me be among the scholars. I now have hope for the future. Being among the scholars has helped me learn how to turn ideas into business plans, and understanding financial management has empowered me to think beyond academics. Moreover, you have instilled in me strong personal values preposition (PVP) like integrity, hard work, and giving back; these will shape my path forever. Thank you for investing in me. Due to the lack of school fees and registration fees for the ATVE Advance Level Examination, I was about to drop out of school because my parents couldn't afford it for me. My name is Rina. I am a member of the Girl Boss Gold Star Crushers Club, and I am in lower sixth A4. The A2Empowerment has helped me a lot, firstly it helped me pay my school fees, bought my books and test books and reduce the burden of my parents I was not able to stand in public to express myself because I never paid my school fees on time and now I can stand in public and express myself and for other girls that cannot speak for themselves. Through this girl boss session, I have learned so many things, like the skills to succeed, personal value proposition, and, with this knowledge, I believe that I will be able to make it in life, and I believe that with the help of A2Empowerment, I will be able to accomplish my dreams and goals in life.

My name is Inna, and I am a member of the Girl Boss Gold Star Crushers Club. I am in form 5 science. I thank A2Empowerment for helping me in paying my school fees and registering me in the G.C.E Examination. Through the Girl Boss sessions, I have learned many things, such as the skill of building self-confidence. This skill of self-confidence has helped me to be confident about my ideas and opinions in class and amongst my peer group. My name is Vivian. I am Inna's mother. I am a single mother of 5 children. I am very grateful, and I say thank you to the A2EMPOWERMENT program for the scholarship given to my daughter. This scholarship has helped me reduce the financial burden I face. It's not easy, given that I have to pay fees for all my children, provide food, and pay house rent. I have two children with special needs. I do odd jobs to pay my children's school fees. From the bottom of my heart am very grateful to the A2EMPOWERMENT program for training my daughter, Inna, to become a Boss and for giving her a scholarship. My name is Marie. I am a form 3 student studying sciences. I am grateful to be one of the recipients of the Girl Boss Scholarship under A2empowerment for the academic year 2025/2026. Being an internally displaced person, I had lost hope of going to school. At some point at the beginning of the academic year 2025/2026, I was in school but contemplating dropping out of school to learn a trade (hair dressing). When I saw the opportunity given by A2empowerment, I did not hesitate to be part of it. The scholarship has opened doors for me to dream big and to become a girl boss, taking charge of my life. Before, I was timid and shy, but with this program, I am confident and able to talk in public. Not only has this program helped me to attend school, meet my needs, and focus on my goals, but I have also acquired critical thinking and communication skills, and I aspire to become a leader bringing change to my community. My dream is to become a medical doctor and an entrepreneur, where I can open my own hospital to help people in my community so that they can live in good health. My name is Marie. I am a form five student studying science. I am grateful to be one of the recipients of the Girl Boss Scholarship Program under A2Empowerment for the academic year 2025/2026. My dad passed away in 2010, and since his passing, life has not been easy, as my mom has been the only one struggling to see me through school. Things became worse when our house in town was burned down due to the crisis, and my mother, together with my other siblings move to the village while I moved to my aunt's place. Paying my fees and meeting up with my school needs all these years hasn’t been easy, and at some point, I have to run to my uncles for help. One day in class, my teacher came in and started telling us about the A2 empowerment program, and I did not hesitate to write my story. God being so kind, I was selected as one of the beneficiaries of the scholarship, making the 2025/2026 academic year very smooth. They paid my fees, registered me for the GCE exams, and also bought

Dear A2Empowerment, My name is IVODIA, I'm in form 3c. I was strolling with my friend when the mentor spotted us and called her into her office. My friend asked me to tag along, and before I knew it, the mentor was inviting her to join A2empowerment, and I got invited to join. I decided to check it out, and it ended up being a game-changer. On the first day, I learned the ropes of being a digital boss and entrepreneur. As I kept attending [monthly Girl Boss meetings], I discovered how to set myself up for the future, craft my personal value proposition, and more. With these skills, I am feeling more confident to collaborate with like-minded people. And in the future, I aim to make a difference in my community by teaching young girls how awesome they are and how they can achieve their dreams.

Education is often described as the key to success. But for many students like me, that key sometimes feels just out of reach, not because we lack dreams but because we lack support. My name is Bertilla, a form five student studying arts, and this academic year could have been very difficult for me. There was a time when I was worried about whether I would even sit in a classroom, write my exams, or continue my education like my peers. The burden of school fees and registration was heavy, and it felt like my dreams were slowly slipping away. Then A2EMPOWERMENT stepped into my life. Through their support, my school fees were paid, and my registration was completed. What may feel like a simple financial assistance to some people was, for me, a restoration of hope. It meant I could work into school with confidence instead of fear. It meant I could focus on my books instead of worrying about being sent home.
